Correlation between Scoliosis Flexibility Degree on Preoperative Imaging with Postoperative Curve Correction and Mechanical Complications

(1) Background: In the preoperative planning stage of scoliosis surgery, it is routine to use radiographs obtained with and without traction observe curve flexibility in order estimate correction, but its association mechanical complications not completely understood. (2) Methods: Retrospective cohort study all patients undergoing infantile, congenital, neuromuscular or idiopathic adolescent correction surgery at a single institution between 2015 2019, minimum follow-up 24 months. Associations qualitative variables were tested chi-square test. The quantitative Mann–Whitney test, correlations was Spearman’s correlation. (3) Results: A total 330 patients, 88 males 242 females, mean age 16.98 years included. value main curves, postoperative 54.44 degrees, 21.73 degrees 18.08 respectively. (4) Conclusions: Preoperative spinal X-ray examination bending films reasonable option for assessing scoliotic flexibility, who are ambulatory can be informed increased risks late complications.
